Piss in the wind is 4 people who share a love for making music. We have rock and roll at our heart and sometimes use extremes in the music like minimalism and noise. The songs usually revolve around words and poems, and the words come out of feelings of love, confusion and frustration with the world. We are in the same kind of vein as - sonic youth, velvet underground, dirty 3. We are good to watch and there are plenty of vocal and musical hooks to get addicted to.
Our line up is drums, bass, guitar, vocals (and backing), occasional keyboard and saxophone. We get the attention and interest of the crowd with prominent vocals, lots of lyrics, and an energetic stage presence. We have been playing together and writing songs for about 2 years, and we are out arranging regular spots at bars and clubs in London and Brighton where people come to hear new music. We have played various shows over the past few months, including a few in London, and we have more booked over the summer. So far we have been well received by the venues and punters who we played to. Our aspirations are to continue recording and perform as much as possible.
We are currently booking Friday and Saturday nights at small venues in London and Brighton where we can draw around 20-30 people, and support slots at larger venues with more established bands.
